DropLocal is an offline-first Android utility for sending files and text directly between nearby devices. It uses Google Nearby Connections for discovery, authenticated pairing, and transfer progress — keeping every payload local to the two devices.
Highlights
- Private by design — no account, cloud storage, or backend.
- Authenticated pairing — compare a connection code before accepting a transfer; QR pairing provides a quick shortcut.
- File and text transfer — share either payload type with live progress feedback.
- Local delivery — received files save to Downloads and the app retains the latest 10 transfers.

Demo flow
- On the receiving device, make the device visible.
- On the sending device, choose a file and select the nearby device.

- Accept the transfer and follow its progress until it is saved locally.
The goal is simple: device-to-device sharing that works without a network account or an internet upload.
